We cast off from Shilshole at about 3pm today after checking off the last things from the to-do list. The boat is tidy, produce is fresh, holding tank is empty, and the fridge and freezer are packed to the gils.

Griffin got to visit with his cousins Allie and Tessa, Greg had butterflies and felt like we would never be ready, and I stuffed the last few things into nooks and crannies and we were off. Undone are finding the keys to get the racks off my car which is being sold, a birthday present for niece/cousin Tessa who’s 11 in just 2 days, seeing my mom again, and whole wheat flour for bread making (c’mon Trader Joes!). Thanks Carrie for bringing Allie and Tessa to visit, thanks to Ann for the delicious biscuits and another hug, thanks to neighbor Nathan for cleaning and selling my car, thanks to amazing renters of our home who I have every confidence in, thanks to our work buddies who keep things going in our absence, and thanks to our parents who we’d have never left without.

We will be spending the night in Port Townsend tonight and will cast off with crew on board sometime tomorrow morning.

Our Predict Wind Tracker is live here. I need to get a proper link on the home screen of our website… add that to the list of things that are undone.
