Yesterday, June 7th, we spent all morning and into the afternoon getting ready to weigh anchor and start heading home. We had spent the last 3 days back in Houmi Bay, just around the corner from Taiohae, waiting for the weather to improve. When we finally got the anchor up just after 15:00 we were really ready and it made leaving just a bit easier.
The sea state and wind were light as the sun disappeared behind Nuku Hiva and we said our goodbyes to the beautiful island and turned to head north. The first week of weather looks pretty nice and it feels great being out at sea again. Our tracker is live (link on webpage menu) though our AIS is acting up, I’m betting Greg and Ned will figure out a fix soon.
